What is the National Hurricane Conference?

The National Hurricane Conference's main objective is to raise hurricane preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation in the United States and the tropical islands of the Caribbean and Pacific in order to save lives and property. The conference also serves as a national gathering for federal, state, and local officials to exchange thoughts and suggest new policies that might be implemented to enhance mitigation and preparedness.

Participants include key players from the National Hurricane Program, NOAA's Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response, faculty from universities throughout the United States, representatives from the insurance industry, emergency management officials, and other organizations interested in hurricane issues.

Why LEMOINE?

Our team is always looking to develop partnerships that strengthen LEMOINE's position as a leader in Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Recovery, and Community Resilience Industry.

For example, we recently announced our financial interest acquisition of two worldwide leaders in the disaster recovery circle. Our first partnership is with DCMC Partners - worldwide leaders in crisis management and disaster recovery operational support, hazard mitigation, and grants management.

Our second partnership is with Workforce Group, a worldwide leader in disaster recovery program management, inspections and claims, debris monitoring and strategic surge staffing.

The National Hurricane Conference is a great venue that enables our team to build rapport and develop strategic partnerships with other leaders in the disaster recovery circle - partnerships that further enable us to provide a full suite of emergency preparedness and disaster recovery services that create stronger, more resilient communities around the world.

Why a National Hurricane Conference?

Each year, there appears to be a hurricane somewhere in the Atlantic Basin that has the potential to impact land or cause damage. Hurricanes can occur at any time between June and November, but the peak is typically August through October.

As a result of hurricanes impacting land, many lives can be lost and significant infrastructure damage occurs to both public and private properties. The nation's economy also takes a hit when impacts are felt by residents, businesses, or agriculture.

The National Hurricane Conference provides an opportunity to discuss how best to prevent loss of life and property due to hurricanes by improving planning, preparedness, response, and mitigation activities. At the same time, it invites public discourse on policy issues.

The conference also seeks to inform participants about current conditions in their area, including any projected changes in water temperature, atmospheric pressure, and wind speed. These conditions are important to track since they can influence the onset, strength, and duration of hurricanes impacting land.

How can the National Hurricane Conference benefit me?

The conference provides a forum for individuals responsible for hurricane warning and response efforts and those who live and work in coastal communities, inland waterways, and marine interests in U.S. Atlantic and Gulf coastal waters.

The conference also allows you to:

  • Build relationships with other companies and organizations involved in the disaster recovery network

  • Understand how the National Hurricane Program is working together to improve hurricane preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation across the United States

  • Learn the latest research findings on hurricanes happening today

  • Discuss new weather-monitoring technologies that are available for use now and in the future

  • Provide feedback to federal, state, and local officials on hurricane issues you face every day.

Who Should Attend?

The National Hurricane Conference is the nation’s forum for education and professional training in hurricane and disaster preparedness.

With an average of 1,500 attendees from around the country, the conference covers all major aspects of hurricane preparedness, response, and recovery, which will provide your company with a unique opportunity to show your wares to a large audience of interested decision-makers.
